UrbanSpirit Facilities are available for a
variety of uses: board retreats, youth lock-ins,
weddings, graduations and other family events, community meetings,
organizing rallies,
whatever you're planning.
Here is a brief description of available facilities:
RETREAT H OUSE
--
The main level of the house is a wonderful,
warm space for receptions (up to 30 people), small meetings, informal
gatherings, or day-long retreats for small groups (up to 22 people). It
includes kitchen (residential appliances), dining room (folding
tables
and chairs), and living room with comfortable furniture. Restrooms are also
available.
The upper level of the house has sleeping space for 10, with a full
bath. Additional bath/shower facilities are located in the basement.
This house has central heat and air, but is not wheelchair accessible.
CHURCH --
Level 1, the
basement,
includes
a fellowship hall, stage, dining hall, kitchen (commercial with serving
counter) and restrooms. The fellowship hall has oak walls that collapse to
create space for large group events, or which stretch to create 6 spaces for
small-group activities. The basement is accessible
from
the street and from the sanctuary above by stairs and by elevator. Folding tables
and chairs are available. Floor is concrete. Steam heat, no
air-conditioning.
Level 2 and 3 are dormitories, each with 30 bunks
and a 4-plex shower and bath. These spaces
have heat and a/c, and are carpeted. Each has
a common room for group meetings and conversations.
The
Sanctuary seats 400, including the balcony, and is accessible by
elevator from the street and the
basement. It is a 1930s Lutheran space, with stained glass windows, gothic
chandeliers, oak pews, wide center aisle, high altar in a chancel area,
worship furnishings, and carpet. Heat, ceiling fans; no a/c.
