Deborah DeMars Conrad is our Executive Pastor and Trainer. After 20 years in ministry, Deb is a diligent, critical observer of society’s relationship with power and wealth. An engaging preacher with a doctorate in leadership, she also coordinates the summer intern program for the Disciples of Christ, training and deploying college students for service in mission sites across the country (including here!). Previously a camp counselor, community center director, and nightclub bouncer, she brings urban experience, skills relating to youth and a certain, necessary irreverence to the work of UrbanSpirit. Some of you will be thrilled to know her guitar skills are coming along... Deb designs our programs, and she leads every group personally, ensuring that the lessons of faith and the lessons of economics are engaging and unforgettable. She’ll challenge you, and will be your best cheerleader on the journey.

Hannah Truxell is our administrator. After a couple of summers as an intern, she relocated to Louisville semi-permanently, and signed on for a bigger role in running the ministry. She is now a grad student at UL, aiming toward a future in non-profit law and working on behalf of those oppressed by systems in need of mending.
