Our signature event, the Poverty Simulation Week is not a typical "mission trip" and more than merely a retreat. We will lead your group through a life of poverty. From the moment you arrive, you step into the world of the working poor - those tens of millions of Americans who work hard and never really get anywhere.

the good news is that the conversation is changing.

Since we began this program in the mid-2000s, folks have begun paying attention nationally to the things we’ve been talking about all along — unlivable wages, inaccessible health care, unaffordable child care, the nightmare of incarceration, plus bureaucratic barriers to a well-put-together life — and the massive accumulation of wealth and power that keeps things from changing.

We like to think we’ve played a part in all that.

For the next couple of seasons, we’re going to be watching. And recreating our simulation for a new era.

For now, we’re putting the simulation on hold.

Watch this site and our facebook page, and be ready to register when we announce new details. You won’t forget it, and you won’t be sorry.
